Whilst watching the News this morning (all gloom and doom)It was said that online sales continue to rise – even though we are in a recession.
A report from http://www.uk.capgemini.com/news states that UK internet shoppers spent 16% more than they did last year online.
Ebay must be somewhere in those figures and the current trend will only increase, recession or not.
Why you ask – because people are still going to buy products regardless, but they will want to get the best possible deals.
To do that and to get the best prices and value – you shop online – where you can more easily compare prices.
There is also the added advantage of you “shopping” at a convenient time to suit our lifestyle, whilst sitting with a cup of tea or coffee.
Ebay is the ultimate haven for bargains and great prices, so recession or not, people will still visit, probably even more in a recession or hard times.
Again from the same report online shopping could account for 50% of total retail sales within 5 years, half of all sales will be online.
If that fact becomes a reality or even if a fraction of that prediction is true.
Then the future is setting yourself up with an online business now.
